1. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Even durable materials benefit from protection.
Try to avoid prolonged exposure to:
- Chlorine (especially swimming pools)
- Strong shampoos and body washes
- Cleaning products
- Perfume and hairspray directly on the metal
Apply lotions and fragrance first. Let them absorb. Then put your jewellery on.
Small habits make a difference over time.
2. Remove Before Heavy Activity
While our PVD-coated stainless steel and gold vermeil pieces are designed for everyday life, removing jewellery before:
- Intense workouts
- Swimming in chlorinated pools
- Heavy cleaning
will always extend its lifespan.
It’s not about fragility — it’s about preserving shine.
3. Wipe After Wearing
Your skin naturally produces oils. That’s normal.
After wearing your jewellery, give it a gentle wipe with a soft cloth to remove residue and keep the surface luminous.
Every LUCID order includes a complimentary polishing cloth for this reason.
A quick wipe takes seconds — and helps maintain the finish long term.
4. Store It Properly
When not wearing your jewellery:
- Store pieces separately to avoid scratching
- Keep them in a dry place
- Avoid humid environments
Soft pouches or individual compartments work best. In fact, the best place for your LUCID jewellery (when you are not wearing it) is in its original box.
5. Know Your Materials
Different materials behave differently.
PVD-coated stainless steel
Highly durable and resistant to tarnishing. Designed for frequent wear.
Gold vermeil
A thick layer of gold over sterling silver. Long-lasting, but benefits from avoiding repeated chemical exposure.
Sterling silver
Can naturally oxidise over time, but can be easily polished back to shine.
Understanding your material helps you care for it properly.
Jewellery Designed to Last
At LUCID, we choose materials intentionally:
- Gold vermeil
- PVD-coated stainless steel
- Recycled metals
Because longevity matters.
Jewellery that lasts longer creates less waste — and holds more meaning.
A little care ensures your pieces stay with you, not just for a season, but for years.
